Extreme Analysis node error?

Post by Carl Bicknell »

Hi,

I've spent 12 years working with Aquarium and made some help videos on it, so I know IDeA pretty well.

I wanted to compare Banksia's Extreme Analysis and was surprised to find the node count doesn't match for imported games!

1. I created a new project called "Bobby Exchange Lopez"
2. I imported all 11 of Fischer's games on the exchange variation into the project by using "Expand by files" in the bottom left.
3. The depth ply count was on 30 (15 moves each side)

4. The total node count was now 200 in the project. In Aquarium it shows 523 which is correct as some games have early annotations.
Even ignoring the annotations 11 games at 30 plies each is 330 so I can't see where Banksia gets 200 from.

Thanks for the report.

I have been struggling to reproduce the issue. I don't have the exact 11 games of Bobby Exchange Lopez. Instead, I have downloaded 12 games from Lichess (at https://lichess.org/study/uueHZZeY). The ECA tree has been expanded to 708 nodes and looks reasonable. Could you try with that game set? Thanks
